Well, both of my babies are officially in SCHOOL! Today was Audrey’s first day of kindergarten and you would have thought she won the lottery. I heard Chris waking her up today and the first thing she said was,”IS TODAY MY FIRST DAY OF KINDERGARTEN????“. It was quite cute. Michael even seemed to be excited and said that he looked forward to recess so he and Audrey could play together (we’ll see if that actually happens lol). Chris went the extra mile this morning and made the kids the breakfast of champions: Pancakes! Audrey happily ate them (but only one when normally she can put down several) and Michael asked for cereal. After breakfast it was off to school! When we got there Michael ran off to his teachers line and Audrey excitedly found her teacher to get her name badge ! Almost as soon as she got her tag it was time to head inside and it was then that I saw the first pangs of nervousness on Audrey’s face. She turned around several times to make sure I was still there and just before she entered the school she turned and waved with a big smile on her face. I watched a lot of the other mother’s there who were bringing their first child to kindergarten get teary and stand at the doors, and it was nice to know I’d already been at that stage and could enjoy this day for what it was… a BIG moment in AUDREY’s life! It had been just as important for Michael, but I was much more focused on myself and how sad it was to see him grow up. At least now I can appreciate it!

YAY Audrey! What a big day for your whole family, but especially her. I bet Michael really looks out for her. I know my oldest did with my daughter last year. They didn’t get to see each other often because of teh grade difference but he would go out of his way to make sure she got to class just fine (even with her protesting she could do it herself) and he also would peek over on the Kindergarden playgound at recess to say hi to her. I bet Michael will be just as wonderful!
Now when does Mommy go back?
Mommy went back TODAY! lol That wasn’t as big of a deal though…
Yep, our baby is all grown up now… ok, not ALL grown up, but she’s in kindergarten!
