Drew,

Great advice. Another friend of mine (Super Boyer) suggested the same in an email to me earlier this afternoon.

Here's the problem with that: I RARELY write my name as "Chris", I almost always write it as <del datetime="2007-01-04T04:37:03+00:00">"Christoper"</del> "Christopher" <em>[edited because my dorky friend Becca has WAY too much time on her hands if she caught that]</em> on everything. For that matter, I almost always sign it "Christopher A. Wheeler". Except for one time, on an exam for a class that wasn't Scantron, I wrote "christopherawheeler.com" just to be funny.

Anyways, on the test form, if I just filled in "Chris" I would be filled with an enormous amount of anxiety over how it looked. Of course, I'm not sure which is worse, getting worked up about filling in "Chris", or getting mad about "Christop".

"But now, I don’t see a reason they can’t change it. How freaking hard can that be?"

Apparently about as hard as it is for you to shorten your name to "Chris" on these forms. ;)

I am amazed that you couldn't fit your whole name. The only other person I've known that I know couldn't fit their full name on those test forms was Danaka, especially when they'd ask for the middle name also! I don't know that I'd mind if they could only fit part of my name as long as they were spelling it right. And as long as they were not calling me and mispronouncing it. I'll take crap mail over telemarketing calls anyday! Oh dear, look at me, I'm rambling on your blog. Sorry.
