One hour and fifty-two minutes of my life I’ll never get back…

I apologize for those of you who loved this movie, but I just couldn’t stand it.  That’s right, I watched Telladega Nights (if that is even how you spell it).  I chuckled twice and finally laughed at the out-takes at the end of the movie.  Otherwise, I thought it was basically ridiculous.  I get that it was supposed to be ridiculous, but they didn’t even try to make it seem real… which might have been the point.  I don’t know.  I’ll just say, it wasn’t my favorite!

Finals are done…

Chris still has tests this week, but I am finito!  I am so relieved!  This week I will be deep cleaning and then spending several days with the Thraps while our carpet gets replaced!  Then I will fervently working on my application to graduate school!  I’ve gotten two of the best professors in the school of social work to write recommendations for me so that is a big yay!

Happy Pearl Harbor Day

OK, so we all know that Pearl Harbor Day isn’t a holiday right? Thankfully now I do, but when I was a kid, I had no idea.

I remember seeing Pearl Harbor Day on the calendar and, assuming it was just another holiday, would wish everyone I saw that day “Happy Pearl Harbor Day” to all the adults at school or church or wherever I happened to be that day. And it is so weird, that NOBODY ever once wished me Happy Pearl Harbor Day back.

Oh finally!

Without going in to too many details…

A phrase that you do not want to hear from your spouse when you two are doing what married people do, is “Oh finally”.

Merry Christmas!

Chris and I went and picked out a tree today and surprised the kids.  We were going to wait until Family Home Evening to decorate it, but they were so excited that we just decided to start our Christmas festivities early!  Merry Christmas!!!

Merry Christmas

Hmm, crab rangoon!!!

I’m not a big fan of most of Hy-Vee’s Chinese food, but I do LOVE their crab rangoon!

And right now, you can get 3/$1.50. Or, if you’re really hungry, you can get 6, for… $3.89!!!

Oh Yeah!

teeheehee

Gotcha back! So yeah, I totally hacked in too. Hello to all Kate’s readers! Happy Holidays and leave Kate lots of comments!

BTW–so proud of you Kate! Way to go on your papers and I know you’ll rock the tests too. Can’t wait to see you!

Kid Rock and Pamela Anderson to split

I don’t even know how I can control myself. I’ve been struggling the past few days trying to figure out what I would say about this. I mean, after the breakup of Britney and K-Fed this is almost unbearable.

Everything I’ve ever felt about marriage I feel is being rocked to the core right now. I mean, how can these two people, so much in love, be ending it all? And what does that mean for people like Kate and me? I mean, if Britney and Kevin can’t stay together, or Kid and Pam can’t keep it together, what hopes do Kate and I have of being able to stay married? Is it even possible?

What??? Someone said that Outer Darkness froze over?! Oh no, I just finished my paper that’s all!

Yes, it is done. Fifteen pages… I think I now know all there is to know about the effects of divorce on children. Here’s the flash… if you are gonna do it, be sensitive, loving, available to talk… and whatever you do, don’t get divorced while your children are teens cause that just puts them on the high road to deep.ress.ion! Lol… ok, obviously that’s not ALL true. In any case, it is done! Only one more small paper and two more finals and I am finito for the semester! YAYYYYYYYYYYYYY!!!!
