The test from he**atia is OVER…

It did not go GREAT, but I do not think that I flat out flunked it, so I’m happy with that!  Now, on to write my paper for tomorrow!!!

Another big week…

So I have a very difficult test for Cognition and the Brain this week, so I am update the ole blog today because it’s likely you won’t see me again until after Michael’s birthday which is on Friday (HE WILL BE EIGHT).  I also have a paper due on Thursday and we have company coming for the weekend soooo wheee!

Not much has been happening here, we had the sickies last week and this week the kids were out of school for a couple of days for parent teacher conferences so my poor parents have had to really help us with childcare… THANK YOU MOM AND DAD!  Other than that, I’ve been busy with school and so has Chris.  I think we will be so excited for spring break this year lol… usually it’s like ehhh, but this year I am going to soak up the time and just enjoy it!!!

Happy Valentine’s Day!

I have a test, so I will celebrate it later lol!!!

Murder in Muscatine

Here is another piece from the local news

This sheds a lot of light on the situation for me.

I am not sure what to think about this…

Yesterday there was a murder (link to story) in Chris’s hometown, and I will be interested to find out more.  I think it is interesting that the paper is already acting as though the murderer was a cold blooded woman who was out looking for murder, but I suppose his family is thinking the same thing.  I will be interested to see how the story plays out.  So often, I believe that these cases are linked to domestic violence.  As a woman, of course, this is where I immediately go, and perhaps I am wrong.  But I do hope that if this is the case the paper runs a new piece on what this woman must have been through to get to the point of killing her domestic partner.

Sickness round two…

Michael has been medicated and is BACK in school today YAY!!!!!  However, before you have a little party for us… Audrey woke up last night with a rash all over her body and saying she felt sick.  Sooo, we are taking her into the dr. later, but it appears to be Scarlet Fever (which, is a form of strep I think so it makes sense).  We’ll keep you all updated lol!

Sickness and Birthdays!

So this weekend my grandpa turned 90.  He had a big party with all of his friends and most of our family was able to attend.  It actually turned out very well and it was fun to see so many of my cousins with their families… it’s such a shock to see them with kids and wives lol!

So to prepare for this party, my mom and I made three posters of pictures of my grandpa, grandma, and family.  This was no small feat and my mom and I spent many hours on these things.  It was the Friday before the party and we had two posters to finish up, so Michael and I went down for dinner.  After dinner Michael and Grandpa Staley went upstairs and watched a movie that Michael was so excited to watch… Cheaper by the Dozen ( he loves this movie and the CbtD2 ).  They finished this and then they put in the Cheaper by the Dozen 2.  About 10:30 pm Michael comes down to tell me he is tired and feels weird.  I feel his forehead and he’s getting a fever… so we wrap things up and then get ready to come home.  By the time we are there he is feeling really sick and he is blaming Grandpa Staley for making him stay up to watch the movie, because he is convinced that he must be sick because he is so tired lol.

The next morning rolls around and not only is it the day of Grandpa Valet’s party, it’s also basketball day for Michael and Audrey, and while Michael seems to still have a mild fever, he is adament that he feels fine and wants to go to basketball and the party.  We give him a little tylenol and see if he perks up… he does and so we go ahead and go to the game.  Later we leave for the party and he still feels fine.  During the party he runs around a little, but spends most of the time watching a movie with the other little cousins there and by the dinner portion of the party he is feeling sick again.

Sunday morning… now very sick lol…

Monday morning… still has a fever, we take him to the dr. and it’s STREP!  YAY… he’s doing better, but he still has to stay home 24 hours after his first dose of antibiotics.  I think both he and I are ready for him to head back to school tomorrow!

It is IN!!!!!

MY application for grad school was handed in today with all the necessary paperwork!  I am so relieved to be done with it!  Tonight I will clean so that tomorrow I can just RELAX!!!  YAY!!!!!!!!!!!  Now just to wait and see if I get in lol!
