Stupid Microsoft Updates

So, I put in some memory to my computer tonight. I added 2GB, so now I’m up to 3GB. Soon I am going to add the last gig and max it out. Anyways, after I was done doing that, I went to the Microsoft website to update Windows.  I looked and there were software updates and hardware updates, so I went ahead and installed them. I don’t really remember what they were, but I know that I had to restart the computer in order for the updates to take effect.

So, I restarted the computer. When I logged back in, there came up the yellow shield looking thing, letting me know there were updates available. Uh… ok. I just updated. Whatev. So I clicked the icon and it started a different update. This one went pretty quick, but, I still had to restart my computer. Duh.

So I did. Again, the little icon thing came up and said there was an update. Instead of clicking that, I went to the Microsoft website again. Even though I had just been there less than an hour before, somehow during all of that updating something weird happened, and I needed to click the stupid button to install the new ActiveX control thing. And then I had the info bar come up asking me if that is what I wanted to do or something. es, otherwise I wouldn’t have clicked “Install” a few seconds earlier. So then it installed another update. And I had to restart my computer again.

So, after like, three restarts or something finally it is fully updated. The weird thing is, I have this set to automatically update once a week. So I know I couldn’t have been more than a week out of date right? Why did I have to go through all of that crap?
