As maybe one or two of you know, yesterday I decided I wanted to try walking from work (Phillips Hall) to class (Field House). That’s across the river. I never had the courage to try walking across the river, because:
- I never thought I had time
- Even if I had time, I thought perhaps I wouldn’t make it
Well, I sure made it ok. And in 18 minutes. I did stop to take a picture from the top of the footbridge at the intersection of Burlington & Riverside. By the time I made it, I was pretty exhausted. I had on a heavy backpack, and I have a nasty cold that makes it hard for me to breath. But I made it. When I got to the Field House, I decided to lay down in the grass and take a break.
Well, today I thought I wouldn’t try it, because my cold seemed to be even worse, which made breathing harder, and my backpack was even heavier today. In my backpack I had this:
In addition, I had these two giant books in my hands:
Well, all of that combined to make the walk even harder than it was yesterday. As I neared the end, I took this picture:
Near the left side of that pic, is the sign pointing to the Emergency Room. At this point, I was feeling like this was a pretty good option. I mean, really, carrying all that extra stuff was… sucky. But in the distance, beyond that Cambus, was my destination, the Field House. Specifically, the 4th floor. I decided to push on. I made it. I was sweaty, and tired. But I’m alive. And tired.

Good for you! Keep it up! How did your wife do on her walk today? She said she was going to…
Good to see you walking but watch the heat. Make sure one of the things you are carrying is a bottle of water.
His wife… forgot she had a test so there was no walking today lol…
Awesome. I ran today and think that the emergency room sounds like a good idea.
Great job Chris, don’t stop now. And pay attention to Sharon, remember the water. I’m proud of you.
