I like how your extension of this overused adage fits into everyday life; if you're really depressed and someone cheers you up, they're effectively "filling your cup". I was just reading a different website looking for a recipe for beer can chicken and it said: <blockquote>Open beer can and take several gulps (make them big gulps so that the can is half full).</blockquote> and I thought to myself, that wouldn't be half full, that would be half empty, so I came here to write about it.
