A wonderful pre-birthday surprise!!!

So, tonight there is a knock on our door and I thought… who the heck is here. Lo and behold it was Rachel and Brandi (two of my good friends from school) coming to steal me off for a birthday dinner! Rachel even brought me a rose!!! We went to Sluggers where I enjoyed myself a tenderloin (YUM-MEE!) and a FREE turtle cheesecake! As another fun surprise, Jamie (another friend from school) was able to join us for dessert!

What a great lead in to my 31st year! Thanks guys! Now I look forward to dinner with my parents AND the Thraps visit this weekend!!! I’m being SPOILED!!!!

Hmm, a tenderloin and turtle cheesecake. Sounds yummy!

Myself though, I probably would have went with a taco salad and just a bite of cheesecake.

Ok, so I am now able and willing to explain and apologize for my earlier post. I was literally on my way to bed last night with a headache when I stopped to check the blogs and read this post. So my first thought was “oh great, now she has friends to do stuff with there.” But I am secure in our friendship so I was still like 98% happy for you and only 2% jealous. Then I thought “man, now they stole some of my thunder and I won’t get to be the first (outside of immediate family) to wish her a happy birthday!” So maybe it was more like 5% jealous and 95% happy for you. Then I thought how much fun you must’ve had that day and I hadn’t even talked with you and here I was just sitting alone with a headache which is why I was maybe 10% jealous, but still 90% happy for you. So on my way to post a comment for you I realized that yes, by going to Sluggers with them it had taken some of the specialness of the fact that we were planning to go there this weekend and I didn’t want to have to struggle to find another place that was as agreeable to everyone that would still be special and that’s why I was 25% upset and 75% happy. Or maybe it’s less. It could be, it could be 98% happy, 2% jealous but that’s what makes it so intense, it’s so - confused. I can’t really figure it out. Ok, sorry, I don’t know why I always have to mix those two quotes! But seriously, I love you and I’m glad that you have good friends nearby who can do these things for you or with you when I cannot. Happy Birthday! Can’t wait to see you!

I am so happy for you and soo glad to hear that it sounds like you have found a wondeful niche with the ladies at school….how WONDERFUL to have such fantastic friends…I say, aside from turtle cheesecake…friends like that are really the best present. Happy Birthday!
